Modernity:Epistemological Questions :: PostModernity:Ontological Questions
it's a lightbrite world
a multiplicity of data points, and claims about data points, leads to a feeling that there really is no truth about any data points
Simultaneously,
there is a strong Biblical theme for hanging on, persevering, moving forward, being strong and courageous, and trusting & obeying.
And
there is also a strong Biblical theme for a Godly giving up or resignation.

- Moses not getting to the promised land

Are they scaffold or bones? And, in the end, the difference likely only matters to the external viewers.

Subjective Truth is too freighted by its Modern opposite, Objective Truth, and so also must be abandoned to the Post-Modern Fire.
So let’s just deal in the Truth, or, if you prefer, the Real.

You've got your origins at the wrong coordinates
Ontology as Relationality, Being-In-Relationship-ness, means that it’s all relative.
Truth is relative?
That the truth is relative, vs objective, is not the problem.
The problem is that we want to make the truth of a thing/situation/person relative to ourselves.
There is a great Relativizer, but it ain’t us.
Great Zeus!
The run to a Humanly Objective Truth is Christianity-in-Modernity’s valiant attempt at defending Truth.
But as Modernity crumbles, so too the Human grasping at Objective Truth. So it’s probably best to get the Family Treasures off of that particular pedestal.
Is the Human attainment of Objective Truth is the Mythology of Modernity?

Regardless, this isn’t an abandonment of Truth.
Nothing Objective for a subject
Can anyone now argue that there is one can have an “objective viewpoint” on anything?
And so it’s tempting to abandon the notion of objectivity.
But really, the thing to abandon is the “viewpoint”, not the “objective” part. We don’t really abandon the notion that there is some “object”. Truly, the sophomores among us like to argue...

what does it mean for us as persons?
How does having a search box affect how we think about ourselves and the world? The very forming of a question creates the boundary of the answer set. Working hard on the question is as important as working hard on the answer to the question.
So here’s a box in which we enter characters, which auto-completes the question, then gives an answer. How...
