I wonder how often the accurate, faithful, orthodox, though personal application of a Biblical text is overridden/invalidated (consciously or otherwise) by Kant’s Categorical Imperative.
Hyperbole is a subset of Metaphor. Where it is not, it’s no longer hyperbole, it is speaking literally
Does hyperbole cease to be hyperbole if your language model & epistemology are non-realist?

Assymptotes reveal but hinder.
While you can learn much about the inner psychology of a person using hyperbolic language, the use of such language rarely helps the situation in which it is used.
