The reason Renaissance men were both brilliant thinkers and basic tool using & making craftsmen, tinkering, taking apart and making, is because critical reasoning thinking uses the same thought patterns and neural pathways of physical disassembly, improving & reassembly.  The two, philosophical thinking and material making, reinforce and amplify each other.

In other words, Liberal Arts kinds of education are the poorer for not including Shop.
